Company Preference and Posting Rules
This is a centralized recruitment — one application, five companies. Key rules every candidate must know:
- At the time of application, candidates must indicate their order of preference for MGVCL, DGVCL, UGVCL, PGVCL, and GETCO in ascending order (Choice 1 = most preferred). This preference is final and irrevocable — no revision or change entertained under any circumstances.
- Company preference does not guarantee posting in that company; allotment is based on merit rank, roster position, and stated preference.
- Once appointed in a company, inter-company transfer is not permitted — with one exception: candidates get one additional opportunity during the one-year validity of the result to opt for another company. Doing so requires resignation from the current company; the new appointment is treated as a fresh appointment.
- Minimum 85% of selections will be from local Gujarat State residents (as per GR dated 31.03.95). Domicile Certificate of Gujarat is required for this quota.
